 Go on to Repeal Massachusetts Casino Law Gaining Some Traction

Nobody in the state of Massachusetts doubts that the folks here like to gamble. But, there is apparently a certain disconnect between that fact and the results of present referendums, in which voters were rejecting gambling enterprises left and right across the state. The message seems become that gambling enterprises are okay as long as they’ve beenn’t located within their own backyard.

Also Governor Deval Patrick has said that he wouldn’t want a casino in his hometown of Richmond, while State home Speaker Robert DeLeo says he’d vote against one in Winthrop. Mind you, both are theoretically in benefit of expanded gambling within the state just like long as it doesn’t land where they live.

But some anti-casino advocates are reading these votes in another way. They’ve said all along that casinos are bad for communities and the continuing state as a whole, and they desire to avoid the casino expansion before it even gets started. Shortly ago, a group of selectmen from four Massachusetts towns created the MetroWest Anti-Casino Coalition, friends that became dedicated to repealing the casino legislation and stopping any gambling enterprises whatsoever from being integrated their state; they now state their work has had such an effect that the group has 继续阅读“Go on to Repeal Massachusetts Casino Law Gaining Some Traction”
